Walking around the mall the other day I noticed a big window banner. Yes of-course, a beautiful face. And that’s not what what got me looking intensely at that banner. Just below the beautiful eyes staring at me was a interesting line

“Inspiration is everywhere”

As I took the line in, I glanced around to find something inspiring around. Nah, not then, but I believed there was truth in that line, and would find something very soon.

Later that night I happened to re-watch a video on YouTube of a Tanzanian marathon runner John Stephen Akhwari running the 1968 Olympic marathon to completion. You can watch it here. I loved what he said to an interviewer at the end of the race. “My country did not send me 5,000 miles to start the race; they sent me 5,000 miles to finish the race.”

As I happen to click and view on other related videos of people who completed the race, I realised they were not alone. There was someone along or within then nudging them to not give up. Most of them crossed the finish line with pain and never got a medal but they inspire many.

As I run these thoughts I am moved to read Pauls lines in

2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV
[7] I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. [8] Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Wow here is a medal or a crown otherwise if you run in the faith.

You can pull along when you are able to focus and see the finish line. But in the christian life you have to pull along with faith and hope with the finish line not easy in sight.

Be Inspired, Never Give Up
