Our Foundational Beliefs

1.Scripture

We affirm that the Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is divinely inspired, wholly trustworthy, and serves as the ultimate authority in matters of faith, conduct, and truth. It is God-breathed and equips every believer for living well before Him.

📖 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:7-11; Matthew 24:35

2.The One True God

There is one living and true God, infinite in wisdom, holiness, power, and love. He is the Creator of all things and sovereign over all creation.

📖 Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-6; Jeremiah 10:10-12; 1 Timothy 1:17

3.The Trinity

Although God is one, He eternally exists in three distinct Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — each fully and equally God, yet each with unique roles in the work of creation, redemption, and sanctification.

📖 Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16-17; Ephesians 4:4-6

4.Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. He became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God

* Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life.
* His sacrificial death on the cross was a substitutionary offering for sin.
* He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and intercedes for us today.
* He offers eternal life to all who receive Him as Lord and Savior.

5.The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, fully divine and equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells them, seals and empowers them to live godly lives, and equips them for ministry.

📖 John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9-16; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:22-23

ABOUT US

DSC03040.JPG

Welcome to Citylight Church, a vibrant sanctuary nestled in the heart of Belapur, Navi Mumbai. Since our inception in 2009, we've been a place where the love and presence of God overflow, infusing every corner of our community with joy and power.

We're not just a congregation; we're a family on a journey. Together, we passionately pursue God's presence, knowing that in His embrace, our hearts are transformed and our destinies unfold. Our gatherings are not just services; they are encounters with the divine, launching us into a life filled with purpose and meaning.

11.The Church

* The Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers.
* Every local church is an expression of that Body, called to worship, fellowship, disciple, serve, and evangelize.
* We affirm the five-fold ministry (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers) as God’s gift to equip and build His people.

  📖 Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Colossians 1:18

6.Humanity, Sin, and the Fall

God created humanity in His image — body, soul, and spirit — with the capacity to choose obedience. But through disobedience, Adam and Eve fell, bringing sin and separation from God. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and, on their own, cannot restore fellowship with God.

📖 Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3

7.Salvation

Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ.

* It cannot be earned by human effort or good works.
* It is received through repentance and faith in Christ’s atoning death and resurrection.
* Those who believe are regenerated (born again) by the Holy Spirit and become new creations in Christ.

  📖 Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:3-6; Romans 10:9-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:4-7; Acts 4:12

8.Baptism & Communion

Water Baptism: We practise believer’s baptism by immersion as a public testimony of faith, symbolizing union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Holy Communion: We celebrate the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice, proclaiming His death until He returns.

📖 Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-5; Acts 2:38-41; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

9.Baptism in the Holy Spirit & Spiritual Gifts

We uphold the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an experience that empowers believers for effective witness and service. We also affirm the operation of spiritual gifts as given by the Spirit for the edification of the Church, exercised in love and order.

📖 Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 10:44-46; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Corinthians 14:1-40; Romans 12:6-8

10.Holiness of Life

Followers of Christ are called to live in holiness — separated from sin and growing in Christlikeness through obedience and the transforming power of the Spirit.

📖 1 Peter 1:15-16; Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 5:16-25; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7; Hebrews 12:14

12.The Return of Christ & Final Judgment

Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly. At His coming:

* The dead in Christ will rise,
* The living believers will be caught up with Him,
* The unrighteous will face judgment and eternal separation from God.
Heaven is the eternal home of the redeemed; hell is eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.

  📖 John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10

13.Satan & Spiritual Warfare

We believe in the existence of Satan — a fallen angel and the enemy of God and His people. Though defeated at the Cross, he continues to oppose the work of God until his final judgment. Believers are called to resist him, standing firm in faith through God’s Word and Spirit.

📖 Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-17; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Ephesians 6:10-18; Revelation 12:9-11; Revelation 20:10

14.Church & State, Religious Liberty

We uphold freedom of conscience — that every person should worship God according to conviction. The Church is called to serve society prophetically — promoting truth, righteousness, and compassion — while honoring civil authority except where it conflicts with God’s commands.

📖 Matthew 22:21; Romans 13:1-7; Acts 5:29; 1 Timothy 2:1-4; Micah 6:8
